Visual Artists: Live and work in the heart of Boston

The Artist Building at 300 Summer Street is a self-governing artist-owned live-work cooperative for visual artists in downtown Boston, in the heart of the vibrant Fort Point Arts Community (FPAC). The historic building, a former wool warehouse, also houses a gallery and several businesses. The cooperative is structured in a limited-equity format to keep the 48 live-work primary residences at below market rate over time.

Founded and sponsored by FPAC, the Artist Building opened in 1995 after years of meetings and extensive renovations. Visual artists are allowed a unique opportunity to live, work, and collaborate in this premier location steps away from the Fort Point Channel and Boston Harbor.

The Artist Building at 300 Summer participates every October in Fort Point Open Studios.
